I’m Sam Geldard, a Midlothian-based ecologist and wildlife photographer. I create photography collections that connect rural accommodation, farms and land-based businesses with the landscapes, wildlife and working life surrounding them.

 

My ecological experience helps me understand the habitats and species I photograph, allowing me to work sensitively and capture images that tell the fuller story of a place.

 

I established SamGWildlife in 2021 to share the landscapes and wildlife that interest me most. Alongside photography, I work professionally as an ecologist, with experience identifying habitats, plants, field signs and the places wildlife uses to feed, shelter and rest.
